Earlier today we shared with you that the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v6 series features eight processors, some of which have an integrated GPU. Apart from the server chips, some information appeared also about the successor to Intel Core i7-6700K – Intel Core i7-7700K. The model is expected to be released on the market by the end of this year. What caught our attention, apart from the Core i7-7700K results, of course, was the motherboard to which the CPU had been attached. Its name is ASRock Z270-Extreme4, and this means that Intel is working on a new chipset for Kaby Lake processors. Despite this, the socket is again 1151 – we suspect that you will be able to install a CPU from the new generation onto contemporary motherboards by just updating your BIOS.

Intel Core i7-7700K has been manufactured through a 14nm process and has a frequency of 4.2 GHz. Thanks to the Turbo Boost technology the latter can be increased up to 4.5 GHz, and we must note that Hyper-Threading is also included. The model has been tested with the famous benchmark Sandra. It has scored 151.94 GOPS (base frequency results) at “Processor Arithmetic” and 379.8 Mpix/s at “Processor Multi-Media”. In comparison, Intel Core i7-6700K had achieved respectively 140.88 GOPS and 353.8 Mpix/s, which translates into a difference of 8% in the first test and 7% in the second.
