A few days after the official launch of Android 8.0 Oreo some smartphone manufacturers are already planning to update a number of their devices to the latest “delicious” operating system, although the predecessor version, Android Nougat, is still available on less than 15% of Android mobile devices. HTC is the first one to confirm the update for its smartphones.

The Taiwanese tech giant has announced on Twitter that HTC U11, U Ultra and HTC 10 will be globally updated to Android 8.0. Although it was clear that these flagships will be updated to Oreo anyway, since they were launched between 2016 and 2017, the confirmation from the manufacturer is of great importance especially for HTC 10.

Launched in 2016 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the flagship should get two major software updates, which is unfortunately not the case for many smartphones such as OnePlus 2 or LG G4. In addition, we note that HTC was among the first manufacturers to announce Android 7.0 Nougat update last year, and now it again very quickly confirms the latest update, although it is not clear when exactly this will happen.
