[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1280P vs Core i7-1165G7 – this is the result of competition
Believe it or not, both the Core i7-1280P and the Core i7-1165G7 do have a max TDP of 28W. So this should be a pretty even battle then, no? The Tiger lake CPU is at a disadvantage right from the get-go, having only 4 cores and 8 threads that, however, can run at a base speed of 2.80GHz, much more than the 1.30GHz base speed of the Core i7-1280P.
With modern apps and programs being able to take advantage of more cores, does the Core i7-1165G7 have enough in 2022 to be relevant again the increasing competition from newer Intel and AMD processors?

Conclusion
We guess we could say that the new Core i7-1280P is a fair bit more powerful than the i7-1165G7. The new advancements in technology truly are giving the consumer what he needs. We also have to admit that Intel finally found a reason to cut loose, and we have to thank AMD for that, as their 2-year hold over the throne made Intel work hard and release their 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, which are once again dominating the CPU rankings.
