The low-voltage model of the Latitude 15 – the 5530, comes with exactly that, low-voltage CPUs from Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake U-series and P-series. Now, Dell comes in with the same device, but with the heavy artillery aka the Alder Lake H-series, giving you a total of three CPUs to choose from.

1. Wide I/O
There are a lot of ports on the device, including two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, two USB Type-C 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, an HDMI 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
2. Upgradeability
There is both expandable RAM and storage, thanks to two SODIMM RAM slots that fit up to 64GB of DDR5 memory running at 4800MHz. and two M.2 PCIe Gen 4 slots.

3. Battery life
The 64Wh battery pack pairs pretty well with the Core i5-12600H, lasting for 10 hours and 22 minutes of Web browsing, or 8 hours and 40 minutes of video playback. Now, we conduct the battery tests with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits, and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with.
4. Performance and cooling
The Core i5-12600H proves to be an exceptional chip, overpowering even the Core i7-11800H from last year. On the Graphics side, we have both the integrated Iris offerings and the MX 550, which both should offer good enough performance in both gaming and productivity.

The setup here includes two heat pipes and one fan, which seem to be enough for the Core i5 chip. The temps are low enough, and while the clock speeds lower down, in the long run, we are more surprised by the cooling being able to handle a 45W CPU.

1. Display quality
The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display that we had for testing comes with comfortable viewing angles, a max brightness of 266 nits in the middle of the screen, and 252 nits as an average for the whole area, a maximum deviation of 9%, and a 1220:1 contrast ratio. However, with a price tag of around $1,500, it is a disappointment, to use PWM at all brightness levels, except for the max one, and to cover only around half of the sRGB color gamut.
In terms of accuracy, our profile hardly accomplished anything, with our test giving us a dE value of 3.8 with the stock settings (left) and 3.7 when our profile is applied (right).
