Huawei nova preview – elegant design, good camera and high performance

It seems that Huawei’s interesting offers do not boil down to their P9 and P9 lite. The manufacturer has another big boy in its portfolio and its name is Huawei Nova. We recently received this phone and we can say that its specs put it next to the flagships on the market.

If you happen to show interest in this new Huawei smartphone, you can check its current price and availability here:

8-core Snapdragon 625 and 5-inch Full HD display

Okay, the model has a Snapdragon 625 (14nm) mobile CPU which has eight Cortex-A53 ticking at up to 2.0GHz. Additionally, it is accompanied by the Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. A combination such as this one can only ensure very high performance and snappy operation. The internal storage is 32GB and you can use a microSD card (up to 256GB).

Also, the display is 5″ and with a Full HD resolution. This ensures high enough image detail and a pixel density of 441ppi. An important complement here is the IPS panel which ensures bright and contrasty colors so that you won’t encounter problems when operating outdoors.

Stylish metal design and 12MP camera (1.25μm)

One of the key merits of this device is its design. It is characterized by intriguing curves on the back which flow into the display’s slightly curved 2.5D glass. The construction also uses a combination of aluminum and magnesium alloy which ensures sturdiness and premium feel. Additionally, the profile is only 7.1mm thick, while the phone weighs only 146 grams.

Furthermore, there is a 12MP camera whose pixel size is 1.25μm and f/2.2 aperture value. This combination contributes to good image quality in poorly-lit environments. Also present are two technologies for focusing which work together for faster and better autofocus. You can also record 4K videos. On the front there is a front-facing 8MP selfie camera with Beauty mode which has many software tweaks to make you look better.

Android 6.0, UCB Type-C, fingerprint scanner and 3020mAh battery

Huawei Nova uses Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is accompanied by Huawei’s UI. The latter brings both layout changes and additional features as well as pre-installed apps.

Additionally, this bad boy’s battery is 3020mAh which sounds great for a 5-inch smartphone. We do not have any particular results as regards its durability yet but the company claims that one charge will provide at least two days of mixed usage, as relative as this may sound.

We can also find a USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer, as well as a fingerprint scanner on the phone’s back.
