Mobile GeForce GTX 1080’s score in 3D Mark Fire Strike (+ pictures)

A while ago we witnessed the specs sheet of the mobile GPU GeForce GTX 1080. We haven’t seen any confirmation from NVIDIA if the new powerful chips will be based on their desktop versions (as it was the case with GeForce GTX 980 which has a mobile version – GTX 980M). Still, the results from the screenshot below (which is not the best in terms of quality but is visible enough) confirm that there will be a considerable increase of performance in gaming laptops.

After we saw that the desktop GeForce GTX 1080 scores around 21-22 000 points, the mobile GTX 980 – approximately 12 000, this picture now shows 16 893 points which means that there will be a new mobile GPU. It is very likely that its name will be GeForce GTX 1080(M). The second picture confirms this as we see a serious cooling system that is most likely there to cool a very powerful chip. Considering the size we reckon that this graphics card will be used only in 17″ devices due to its dimensions. Additionally, the table below displays a comparison between the three NVIDIA GPUs – GeForce GTX 980 (mobile version), GeForce GTX 1080 (mobile version) и GeForce GTX 1080 (desktop).
