The new Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop series – prices, specs, features and configurations

The Chinese tech giant has taken its first steps in the world of notebooks with its announcement of the new Mi Gaming laptop. This bad boy is targeted at those on the lookout for a good gaming experience which also happens to be merciful to your pocket.

For starters, the configurations are powered by 7th gen Intel Core processors – the options include Intel Core i7-7700HQ and Intel Core i5-7300HQ. Taking a look at the graphics side of things, here we see NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB GDDR5) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5) either of which should deliver a satisfactory gaming experience. The device also comes with a maximum memory capacity of up to 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM while as storage options you get up to 256GB SSD + up to 1000GB HDD

In terms of design, the black aluminum chassis features a brushed aluminum finish with no logo on the lid giving the device a simplistic and premium look. In addition, the 15.6-inch IPS display offers Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 72% NTSC color gamut coverage, as well as a max brightness level of 300 nits. Furthermore, dimensions of 363 x 264 x 20.8 mm and an overall weight of 2.70 kg (6 lbs) speak of decent portability, given the nature of the notebook. In order to give the notebook a more gaming-oriented appearance, Xiaomi has incorporated a four-zone RGB backlit keyboard and RGB illumination taking place on the bottom of the body.
