Verdict

Ladies and gentlemen, the Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G) is not an ordinary product. It is not a gaming laptop, but at the same time, it can play almost all AAA titles at reasonable fps and 1080p resolution.

Thankfully, it is able to fulfill the promised 50W TGP of the RTX 3050 (in our case), but the lack of good P-core utilization means that you will experience heavy throttling in some titles. Especially such that have large maps, and require some help from the CPU.

Weirdly, there is a MUX switch on this device – or at least you are able to use only the dedicated GPU. This setting is configurable through BIOS.

Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G)’s IPS panel has a WQXGA resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. It covers 98% of the sRGB color gamut and has an accurate color representation with our Gaming and Web design profile.

In addition to that, this display doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. This ensures comfort during long periods of use at a time. Let’s also not forget the fact that this machine uses a 120Hz panel. It makes the image pretty smooth, but its pixel response times are not very fast.

Here, the battery life is on point with 11 hours of Web browsing or 9 hours of video playback. Unfortunately, the memory is soldered to the motherboard, and the maximum available configuration included “only” 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Thankfully, though, the build quality is great – the Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G)’s aluminum chassis can withstand a lot of pressure before flexing. Now, the laptop may seem almost perfect, but the pure nonsense, exhibited by the P-core and the single-fan cooling solution makes us tell you to refrain from this particular machine. At this point, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (14″, 2023) is a better purchase, despite the inferior CPUs it is offered with.
