ASUS Vivobook Go 15 (E1504F) review – extremely inexpensive and reliably fast

Design and construction

To keep the price of this unit low, ASUS made it entirely out of plastic. One extremely interesting case about the device is that it meets the MIL-STD-810H military-grade standard for “toughness”. In our experience with the laptop, we can definitely say that it is not tough.

Both its lid and its chassis bend. A lot. This might be because of the thin body – 17.9mm, but its lack of internal support is definitely reflected in the weight – only 1.63 kg. Be careful when handling this product.

Opening the lid is not possible with one hand, especially if you’re not Harry Potter. On the bright side, the bezels around the display are pretty thin. The top one even houses an HD Web camera with a privacy shutter.

Moving to the base, we see a design with an elevated palm-rest area, and a keyboard, that unfortunately lacks a backlight. It is pretty comfortable for typing thanks to the decent key travel and clicky feedback. In addition, you get a full-size NumberPad section.

Here, the touchpad comes with a pretty smooth surface. Its clicking mechanism works for the entire area of the touchpad, while the tracking is relatively accurate and fast. Some units will feature a fingerprint reader embedded inside the touchpad.

Now, turn the laptop upside down, and you will find the two speaker cutouts. Furthermore, there is a ventilation grill. Hot air, on the other hand, escapes the device through a vent on the back of the base.

Ports

On the left side, you get a USB Type-A 2.0 port. Then, on the right, there is the power plug, an HDMI 1.4 connector, a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and an Audio jack.

What would you say about this one I am unsure about the build quality or if it has some differences but it has oled display and some other stuff.
