Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 6 (AMD) review – portable office device with good upgradability and long battery life
Temperatures and comfort, Battery Life
Max CPU load
In this test we use 100% on the CPU cores, monitoring their frequencies and chip temperature. The first column shows a computer’s reaction to a short load (2-10 seconds), the second column simulates a serious task (between 15 and 30 seconds), and the third column is a good indicator of how good the laptop is for long loads such as video rendering.

Interestingly, the 14-inch Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 6 (AMD) is just a bit behind the 15-inch Acer Aspire 5 (A515-48M) when it comes to clocks under load. That’s a very good result for such a compact device. Still, the temperatures are high but that’s expected given the small and thin chassis.
Comfort during full load
On the other hand, the cooling fan isn’t noisy. During heavy processor loads, the left side of the keyboard is warm, but not too hot and you can use the device comfortably for work. The Lenovo Vantage app offers three performance presets.
Battery
Now, we conduct the battery tests with Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. The 45Wh battery has enough juice for 11 hours and 7 minutes of Web browsing, or 7 hours and 42 minutes of video playback. To achieve this, you have to use the “Intelligent Cooling” preset.
