The M1 Max from Apple is a groundbreaking chip that managed to shake up the laptop space for a while, but due to the sheer expense of buying a device with it, it isn’t really made for the masses.

Looking at the Windows side of things, while laptops with powerful processors are still expensive, you can find hidden gems and the overall ecosystem is much more open.

Today we have the Ryzen 7 6800H, which needs to hold the fort before Zen 4’s eventual arrival in late 2022 / early 2023. It goes against the M1 Max, to see if Apple’s endless integration and closed ecosystem can be optimized enough to handle one of the most powerful laptop processors right now.

Conclusion

It’s no secret that the Apple M1 Max is a powerful SoC, and any Mac device equipped with it will be able to handle a variety of different tasks. However, is it worth entering the Apple ecosystem if you’ve never had an Apple device, or should you stick to Windows-based laptops.
