[Comparison] Intel Core i7-1195G7 vs Core i7-11800H – different for a reason

The most powerful 15W Core i7 against the most powerful 45W Core i7. Both sporting Tiger Lake, the Core i7-1195G7 and Core i7-11800H shine in different areas. The first one pushes the limits of efficiency while delivering a nice amount of performance that is perfect for daily tasks and some heavier loads. On the other hand, the i7-11800H is a serious performer, managing to be a serious competitor to AMD’s Ryzen 5000H-series CPUs, which is great to see, as AMD has had the upper hand when it comes to processors.

Conclusion

These two CPUs are very different and are clearly made for different laptops, however, that doesn’t stop certain manufacturers from placing Tiger Lake H45 CPUs inside some of the thinnest devices available. Just take a single look at the Precision 15 5560, which has a profile of only 11.6 mm, but access up to the Core i9-11950H. If you want a smaller and more efficient notebook, the Tiger Lake U-series chip is fantastic. On the other hand, if you want a powerful chip for serious work, the Core i7-11800H is for you.
