Design

In terms of design, the device looks just like any other business machine would. We have a simple construction with sharp edges, rounded corners, and a silver finish with an HP logo on the back. The laptop has supposedly passed the military standard certification tests, so it should have no problem surviving day-to-day use and the occasional light bumps here and there. In terms of weight and height, this is a very portable unit, with a weight of 1.38 kg and a profile of 19.9 mm.

Looking at the sides, we find a decently populated I/O, with three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card slot, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The display selection offers three Full HD IPS displays. The base configuration comes with up to 250 nits of brightness and around 50% sRGB coverage. It can come with a touchscreen, in case you need another way of interacting with the device. Then we have either a 400-nit panel or a 1000-nit panel, both with 100% sRGB coverage. The configuration with a 1000-nit panel also gets an IR sensor for facial recognition, as well as HP’s Sure View privacy screen, which narrows the viewing angles so that only you can see what’s going on on the display.

Specifications and features

The laptop comes with either the Ryzen 3 5425U or the Ryzen 5 5625U, two Zen 3 CPUs from the Zen 3 refresh cycle. They have Vega-integrated graphics and are paired with up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM as well as up to 256GB of Gen 3 SSD storage.
