[Specs, Info, and Prices] The ThinkPad X13 and X13 Yoga Gen2 bring produtivity and performance thanks to 16:10 screens and Tiger Lake

Being the smallest laptops in Lenovo’s ThinkPad lineup, the X13 and X13 Yoga have exceptional portability and versatility, especially the X13 Yoga, which has a 360-degree hinge, allowing for it to be used as a tablet.

This means that it has a touchscreen display as well, which enables multiple ways to use the device. Tiger Lake hardware powers up these machines, giving exceptional performance and great power efficiency.

The ThinkPad X13 and X13 Yoga will be available in March and April, respectively, with a starting price of $1,299 for the X13 and $1,379 for the X13 Yoga.

Without further ado, here is our quick overview of the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 and X13 Yoga.

Design

The X-series of ThinkPads have been known as premium productivity laptops and with that comes high-quality materials for the body. Both the X13 and the X13 Yoga use metal for the entirety of the body, making for a very thin and light device. The lid uses a hybrid polymer that is infused with carbon fiber, which is one of the best materials when we talk about weight/strength ratio. And talking about the weight, both laptops are around 1.20 kg which is practically nothing.

HeightWeight
Lenovo ThinkPad X1318.2 mm (0.72″)1.19 kg (2.6 lbs)
Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga15.4 mm (0.61″)1.20 kg (2.6 lbs)

Display

The display choices stay the same between the two devices, with the only exception that the displays on the Yoga version have touchscreen support. Both panels have IPS matrices, and an aspect ratio of 16:10 giving the user more space on the vertical axis, allowing for more apps to be shown on the screen simultaneously. The first panel has a Full HD+ resolution and the second has a QHD+ resolution. At the size of 13.3-inches for both panels, regardless of the resolution, you will get a crispy and detailed image.

Specifications

The spec sheet is where we see the most change. The old Comet Lake Intel CPUs are gone for good and for their replacement, Lenovo has chosen four Tiger Lake CPUs (two Core i5 CPUs and 2 Core i7 CPUs). All of them come with the new Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU, which is among the best right now, offering great performance and being able to handle some light gaming as well.

With the laptops being oriented toward business and productivity, security is very important. For that reason, Lenovo has implemented their ThnikShield features, which include the Privacy shutter for the HD webcam, and a Privacy Guard which protects the contents of the display from prying eyes.
