NVIDIA surprises with a new flagship – TITAN Xp unleashes the full power of the GP102 chip

In 2016 NVIDIA released its most powerful GPU to this day – TITAN X Pascal with computing power of 12 TFLOPs and its price was around $1200. Not long after that the company revealed a new graphics card – GeForce GTX 1080 Ti – which proved better than “the most powerful” GPU in the world and only at a fraction of its price – $700. Back then many people found that strange. The last news from the “green” company, however, says that (surprise…) GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is not the fastest GPU by NVIDIA. Their latest model is called TITAN Xp (making the situation more confusing because most of us got used to referring to TITAN X Pascal with just TITAN XP).

This GPU is based on the same GP102 chip like the GTX 1080 Ti and TITAN X Pascal, but this time its full capacity is unleashed, unlocking all available of the available 30 SM. In comparison, the previous two chip iterations featured 28 functioning SM components.

Apart from this, NVIDIA revealed that the graphics card will be compatible with Mac, and that the new beta drivers will be available to the other Pascal family members soon.

TITAN Xp will be available at the same starting price as the one of the original Pascal TITAN X GPU when it was released. In the meantime you could browse through all currently available NVIDIA GPUs here: http://amzn.to/2oIG6OR
