The new Lenovo ThinkPad L380 Yoga business convertible series – specs, features and configurations

Ever wanted a well-built business notebook yet you need it to be portable – say hello to the new Lenovo ThinkPad L380 Yoga. This new product by Lenovo covers all your needs with its small form factor and 2-in-1 convertible device.

The ThinkPad L380 Yoga is a mashup between a few of Lenovo’s series as the name suggests. You get the rigidness and reliability of a ThinkPad but you are also offered the versatility of a 2-in-1 Yoga and all this is delivered in a small package for the go.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: http://laptopmedia.com/series/lenovo-thinkpad-l380-yoga/

The L380 Yoga offers a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080p) IPS display. Of course, it is a touchscreen panel as the notebook is convertible and the screen rotates at 360 degrees. Judging by the screen size you can expect the laptop to be quite portable and you will be right – it measures at 18.8 mm (0.74″) and 1.56 kg (3.4 lbs). This is far from the thinnest and lightest we have seen on a 13.3-inch notebook but don’t forget that we are talking about a rigid ThinkPad construction.

Talking about the construction, the chassis of the ThinkPad L380 Yoga is built using a variety of materials including plastic, aluminum, and fiberglass. What’s important is that the notebook carries MIL-STD-810G military certification which means that it is highly resistant to all sorts of hazards like humidity, shock, high or low temperatures and pressure and more.

If you wonder about performance, don’t worry, the ThinkPad L380 Yoga might not be a workstation but it can be configured with up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U which delivers a fair amount of processing power while maintaining power consumption low. You get up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage. As for the GPU, you are stuck with the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620.

One thing is for sure, you are well covered in terms of connectivity options with the ThinkPad L380 Yoga. You get two USB 3.0 ports one of which can be used for charging other devices, an HDMI, microSD card reader, and an Ethernet port. You also get not one but two USB Type-C ports, no Thunderbolt 3 support though. Intriguing is that the notebook does not have a proprietary DC connector, instead, it uses one of the USB Type-C ports for charging the 45Wh battery which can get up to 80% in an hour thanks to the RapidCharge feature.

Lastly, let’s just name a few of ThinkPad L380 Yoga’s premium features. You can opt for an infrared camera which can scan objects and create 3D models. Optional Intel vPro technology can bring advanced security measurements. The same goes for the discrete Trusted Platform Module and fingerprint sensor. Use the Active Pen for natural handwriting and precise drawing.
