Demontage, Upgrade-Optionen und Wartung

Um auf die Innereien des Notebooks zuzugreifen, müssen Sie 10 Kreuzschlitzschrauben lösen. Heben Sie dann die Bodenplatte vom Gehäuse ab. Wenn Sie auf die Kühllösung zugreifen wollen, müssen Sie zwei Kreuzschlitzschrauben auf der Innenseite und vier auf der Rückseite des Geräts lösen.

Unsere Konfiguration enthält einen 86-Wh-Akku. Um ihn herauszunehmen, ziehen Sie den Stecker des Akkus ab und lösen Sie die 7 Kreuzschlitzschrauben, mit denen der Akku am Gerät befestigt ist.

Was den Arbeitsspeicher angeht, so gibt es zwei SODIMM-Steckplätze, die mit DDR5-RAM funktionieren. Für die Speicherung gibt es zwei M.2 PCIe x4-Steckplätze. In einen davon passen 30-mm-, in den anderen 80-mm-Laufwerke. Beide arbeiten mit Gen 4 SSDs zusammen.

Um mit der Demontage fortzufahren, müssen Sie zunächst die Wi-Fi-Karte entfernen. Danach ziehen Sie alle Anschlüsse von der Hauptplatine ab. Entfernen Sie dann die USB-Typ-C-Metallhalterung. Der nächste Schritt umfasst die Entfernung von 8 Kreuzschlitzschrauben, die das Motherboard, die beiden Tochterkarten und die Lüfter am Gehäuse befestigen.

Wie Sie sehen können, gibt es zwei Wärmerohre, die sich die CPU und die GPU teilen, wobei jedem von ihnen ein weiteres zugewiesen ist. Insgesamt sorgen vier Kühlkörper und zwei Lüfter für die Wärmeableitung. Außerdem sieht es so aus, als gäbe es eine Dampfkammer, die den Kühlprozess unterstützt.

This difference in the clocks/power ratio between the G16 and other models with the same CPU is related to the variation in chip quality.
This tested G16 i7 apparently did badly in the silicon lottery.

I love my Dell 2023 G16. I have the 13650HX and the 4050 GPU for $1199. I have a 13900k and 4090 for video editing videos on my desktop, but I needed a laptop for editing while on vacation and traveling this summer. I would have bought the 4070 variant, but it wasn’t available for another few weeks and I needed something now.
