Acer Swift 5 Pro’s integrated Intel GPU is up to 97% faster than its dedicated NVIDIA GPU
Integrated graphics, in the past, have never been something to write home about. They were usually a laughing stock and were only useful for web-browsing and playing videos and movies. Nowadays though, new iGPU technologies have been able to perform better than certain discrete graphics cards. Such was the case with the new Tiger Lake Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7, which is included with the Acer Swift 5 Pro’s Intel Core i7-1165G7 and its discreet GPU – the NVIDIA GeForce MX350. We will leave our full review of the Acer Swift 5 Pro down below.

GPU benchmark
As you can see in our GPU benchmark test below the Intel iGPU solution managed to crush NVIDIAs discrete offering pretty convincingly. We recorded performance gains of up to 97%.

Conclusion
iGPUs are getting better and better as every day passes and this test was evidence of that. Intel is getting back on their feet and it’s amazing to see that there is competition between GPU manufacturers, which could only bode well for the consumer. While Intel’s iGPU is better than NVIDIAs discreet offering there are still instances where you should leave them both enabled, such as video editing, photo editing, and other tasks that can make use of both the integrated and the discrete GPU.
