Max CPU load
In this test we use 100% on the CPU cores, monitoring their frequencies and chip temperature. The first column shows a computer’s reaction to a short load (2-10 seconds), the second column simulates a serious task (between 15 and 30 seconds), and the third column is a good indicator of how good the laptop is for long loads such as video rendering.

In short and medium loads, the Core i7-1360P inside Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (UP3404) can’t reach the same clocks as some of the other competitors that we have tested with the same CPU. Still, in longer stress, the P core clock is good (2.24 GHz) and the E core frequency is decent (1.75 GHz). In addition to that, the laptop always feels very responsive.
Gaming comfort
We set the fan to “Performance mode” via the MyASUS app. When the CPU isn’t stressed at max, the fan is almost quiet. Still, if you don’t need the full processor power, you can set the fan mode to “Standard” or “Whisper” for even lower noise levels. Under heavy usage, you can hear the fan but it’s not intrusively noisy which is a bit of a positive surprise given the high rotation speed. If you are using the notebook for something heavy like 3D rendering, you’ll probably feel a bit of warmness on the right side of the keyboard which is okay for normal work.
If the CPU temperature is below 50°C, the fan isn’t spinning at all even in “Performance mode”. We observed around 2800 RPM in Web browsing or during video playback. When the processor is working hard, the fan speed is ~ 6100RPM.

Now, we conduct the battery tests with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. This laptop’s 75Wh battery pack lasts for 14 hours and 35 minutes of Web browsing or 11 hours and 7 minutes of video playback.
