Official: Huawei revealed the P9 – specs and prices
Huawei officially revealed their new smartphone flagship – P9 and as expected, the main feature of the device is its dual 12MP rear camera made with collaboration between Leica and the Chinese OEM. Huawei claims that the P9 will be a game-changer in smartphone photography due to the bright, vivid colors and incredibly high photo quality of the camera. One of the rear shooters is an RGB unit, while the second one is monochromic assuring for very detailed images.
Furthermore, you’ll find a couple of shooting modes in the camera menu, which allow you to choose from soft, bright or standard colors. Also, the super-fast focusing technology, Hybrid Focus, is also present. Basically, it uses a laser to measure the depth and contrast. The aperture of the lens is also quite large, so you shouldn’t have any trouble taking stunning night-time stills. Additionally, thanks there are a few extra options available in the camera menu like adding a bokeh effect to your photos.

Huawei’s new flagship has the same classic design language as all other devices from the P lineup. The combination of durable 2.5D glass and stylish aluminum construction make the P9 one of the best-looking devices. The size of Huawei P9’s display is 5.2 inches and the resolution is Full HD. The new powerful Kirin 955 SoC takes care of the phone’s performance. It’s a 64-bit mobile chip with eight cores, separated into two clusters – the first four cores are Cortex-A72 clocked at 2.5GHz while the others are Cortex-A53 also clocked at 2.5GHz.
There will be two versions of Huawei P9 available. The first one will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage while the second one will offer 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Both models will feature a microSD memory card slot. As for the battery, the device sports a 3000 mAh unit and an improved fingerprint sensor located on its back. We should also note that the phone has a USB Type-C charging port.
Both versions of the phone will hit the market on the 16th of April and will be available in 29 countries. The asking price is 449 GBP in the UK or $630.
