Lenovo ThinkPad E470 (14-inch, FHD, IPS) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

The Lenovo ThinkPad E470 differs from some of its competitors in the business segment as it has a decent IPS panel suitable not only for browsing and office work but it’s also good for multimedia as well. Still, there are some issues that can be easily fixed with our profiles. The profile packages contain the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extent.

The Lenovo ThinkPad E470 has a Full HD IPS panel with 52% sRGB color gamut coverage, good contrast ratio (780:1), relatively low for an IPS maximum brightness (247 cd/m2) and almost optimal color temperature – 6400K.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the Lenovo ThinkPad E470 with 14″ panel manufactured by Innolux with model number N140HCA-EAB featuring FHD (1920×1080) resolution and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: Lenovo ThinkPad E470.

Office Work / Web Design

This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. The notebook’s screen isn’t suitable for color-sensitive work but it’s enough for good multimedia experience. Our profile, however, improves the color accuracy as much as possible.

We’ve also adjusted the gamma curve and white balance to fit the standards.

Gaming and Movie Nights

You can take advantage of the Gaming and Movie Nights profile, which will improve the overall visibility – especially in darker areas of the image – during gaming and watching movies (you can see an example here).

Health-Guard profile

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates the PWM. However, since the panel doesn’t use PWM from 70 cd/m2 and above, the Health-Guard profile will come in handy only for reducing the negative blue light emissions.

Installing and using the profiles
