The Microsoft Security Resource Center has revealed a new Windows vulnerability that allows your PC to be vulnerable to hacking just by using the Wi-Fi connection to force remote code execution. It has been marked as Max Severity: Important. The exploit is essentially a weakness in the CWE-20: Improper Input Validation software module which usually checks where code is suitable for execution (aka safe). When there’s a flaw in the system that is known, a hacker could write executable code in such a way so that it passes through the Input Validation effortlessly and make your system vulnerable.

You really don’t need to do anything as a user in order to get hacked, as the hacker just needs to be within range of your Wi-Fi network to gain access to the connected devices. It’s reliable, simple, and repeatable, the three words that every hacker wants to hear.

This comes at a time where Microsoft is coming under fire for privacy and security with its Copilot+ program, as well as all sorts of different tracking techniques that they’ve been using to monitor users.
