    Intel Atom x5-Z8500

    Intel Atom x5-Z8500 is a System-on-a-Chip model, part of Intel’s Cherry Trail generation. Releasead in March 2015, the chip has been developed by applying a 14nm process and its construction includes tri-gate transistors. This said, the SoC energy efficiency is significantly improved compared to its predecessor Bay-Trail-T. The processing cores are based on the Airmont microarchitecture and support Intel Virtualization Technology and Intel Identity Protection Technology.

    Intel Atom x5-Z8500 includes HD Graphics (Cherry Trail). The iGPU is based on the Intel Gen8 architecture and operates at a maximum frequency of 600MHz. As for the processor, it operates at a base frequency of 1.44GHz, with boost available to its maximum of 2.24GHz. The SoC’s TDP is less than 4W and its maximum operating temperature – 90 celsius. The maximum supported memory of the chip is 8GB LPDDR3 1600 with two memory channels.
