Intel Atom x7-Z8700 is a energy efficient 4-core SoC which can be found in ultra-thin laptops, convertibles or tablets. It has been launched in February 2015 as a part of the Cherry Trail generation. Atom x7-Z8700’s base frequency is 1.6GHz but when needed it can be boosted up to 2.4 GHz which brings enough processing power for everyday tasks as surfing the Web, reading e-mails or working with office applications.
The x7-Z8700 is manufactured through 14 nm process and its TDP is less than 4 watts. Intel claims that its SDP (Scenario Design Power) is just 2W. This said, the chip includes the iGPU HD Graphics (Cherry Trail). It includes 16 EUs, operating at a base frequency of 200MHz, but can boost up to 600MHz.
Compared to its ARM-based rivals, HD Graphics has a performance similar to Qualcomm Adreno 330. As for the CPU, it should perform on same level as the AMD A6-6210 or Snapdragon 810.
