Intel Core i7-2630QM is a 4 core, high-end processor announced in the first quarter of 2011. It is part of the “Sandy Bridge” generation and operates at a base frequency of 2GHz. If a higher frequency is needed, its cores can overclock up to 2.9GHz.
The chip is equipped with 256KB of first level cache, 1024KB of second level cache, and 6MB of third level cache. The Core i7-2630QM has been developed using a 32nm process, allowing for the integration of the Intel HD Graphics 3000 controller. It operates at a base frequency of 650MHz, while Turbo Boost can increase that to 1100MHz. Power consumption of the whole SoC (System on a Chip) is 45 watts, while its maximum operating temperature is 100C.
Intel Core i7-2630QM supports TurboBoost, HyperThreading, PCI Express 2.0, up to 16GB of DDR3 1066/1333 memory and QuickSync.
