Intel Core i7-2670QM is a 4 core, high-end processor announced in the fourth quarter of 2011. Successor of the i7-2630QM, the CPU is part of the “Sandy Bridge” generation and operates at a base frequency of 2.2GHz. If a higher frequency is needed, its cores can overclock up to 3.1GHz.
The chip is equipped with 256KB of first level cache, 1024KB of second level cache, and 6MB of third level cache. The Core i7-2670QM has been developed using a 32nm process, allowing for the integration of the Intel HD Graphics 3000 controller. It operates at a base frequency of 650MHz, while Turbo Boost can increase that to 1100MHz. Power consumption of the whole SoC (System on a Chip) is 45 watts, while its maximum operating temperature is 100C.
Intel Core i7-2670QM supports TurboBoost, HyperThreading, PCI Express 2.0, up to 32GB of DDR3 1066/1333/1600 memory, QuickSync and Virtulization.
