Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) is up to 183% faster than its predecessor Galaxy J5 (2016)

Galaxy J is one of the budget Samsung series and the leader in this lineup – Galaxy J5 (2016) is now overtaken by its successor Galaxy J5 (2017).

The mobile processor in Galaxy J5 (2017) is Exynos 7 Octa 7870. The chip features eight cores with Cortex-A53 architecture and clock speed up to 1.6 GHz. It is manufactured through a 14nm technological process and its energy consumption is 30% lower than that of its 28nm predecessor which is probably one of the reasons for the great battery life. Moreover, it supports the LTE Cat 6 technology with a download speed of up to 300Mbps, support for Full HD screens, up to 16MP cameras and Full HD video recording at 60fps. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) works with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 – one of the most popular mid-range smartphone mobile chips. The 64-bit processor is manufactured through a 28nm technological process. It offers four Cortex-A53 cores ticking at 1.19 GHz. Additionally, the chip is characterized by the support of Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, and LTE Cat4 connectivity which allows up to 150 Mbps download and up to 50 Mbps upload speed. Here, the present GPU is Adreno 306.
