Every few weeks, NVIDIA releases new and updated Game Ready drivers, which help to optimize performance and provide continued support to its customers. This includes when new games are released, as it’s up to the GPU manufacturer to make games run as smoothly as possible on their current available hardware.

This is where the new GeForce Game Ready 522.25 WHQL driver comes in. Not only does it bring support for the new 40-series Ada GPUs, of which so far we only have the RTX 4090, but we also see some boost added to the 30-series, with up to 24% in certain games.

While such headlines should be taken with a grain of salt, if only half of these performance numbers are true, we’re looking at increased longevity of the RTX 30-series GPUs, amidst the arrival of the 40-series. The driver brings new shader compilation optimizations, as well as reduced CPU overhead. Lastly, Forza Hoziron 5 and F1 22 get support for Resizable BAR, which allows the CPU full access to the GPU memory, loading textures and environments faster.

Borderlands 3: Up to 8% (1080p)
Call of Duty: Vanguard: up to 12% (4K)
Control: up to 6% (4K)
Cyberpunk 2077: up to 20% (1080p)
F1 22: up to 17% (4K)
Far Cry 6: up to 5% (1440p)
Forza Horizon 5: up to 8% (1080P)
Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition: up to 8% (4k)
Red Dead Redemption 2: up to 7% (1080p)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: up to 5% (1080p)
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: up to 5% (1080p)
Watch Dogs: Legion: up to 9% (1440p)

Among the driver packages seems to be data for new RTX 30-series graphics cards, including an RTX 3070 Ti using the new GA102 die, along with an RTX 3060 Ti and an RTX 3060, based on the GA104 and GA106 dies, respectively. They should also bring the new GDDR6X memory, which would confirm the rumors that were swimming around.
