日本[Comparison] AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS vs Core i7-10750H – it depends on how deep are your pockets
The 10th gen Intel Comet Lake-H CPUs debuted around one year ago. Most of them are fine in terms of performance but one of the problems was that they are almost technically the same as the Coffee Lake chips. The new ones offer a bit higher frequencies and a slightly refined 14nm tech process (with a lot of pluses after the name).
The other problem for the current Comet Lake-H CPUs is called AMD Zen 3 mobile (and even Zen 2 too). The AMD products offer decent efficiency and good computing power alongside fair pricing. But no matter what, the Comet Lake processors are still on the market and today we’re going to check the performance of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS and the Core i7-10750H.
So, let’s see how a modern 35W AMD CPU with more cores is able to offer when it has a 45W 6-core Intel CPU against it.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS is an 8-core chip that has 16 threads while the Intel CPU is a 6/12 product. In terms of frequencies, the AMD processor can offer a 3.20 GHz base clock and 4.40 GHz of boost. The Intel Core i7-10750H has 2.60 GHz base frequencies and it boosts up to 5.0 GHz. When it comes to cache size, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS is equipped with a 16 MB cache and the smaller sibling is fine with its 12 MB.
The AMD product has the upper hand when it comes to memory support with DDR4-3200 MHz while the Intel contender relies on a modest DDR4-2933.

Verdict
Everything depends on how deep are your pockets. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS is a good CPU that is very fast and efficient at the same time. It has a lot of cores and threads and if you use your laptop for something more than the usual Web browsing and YouTube videos, you’re definitely going to feel the difference compared to some older CPUs.
On the other hand, the Core i7-10750H seems a bit overpriced for its performance. The AMD Ryzen 5 4600H looks like a better option and it’s bundled with a much faster iGPU.
