[FPS Benchmarks] Darksiders Genesis on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – the 50W GPU is over 20% faster on Ultra

Darksiders Genesis is characterizing by good graphics and fun gameplay. The game isn’t too heavy – Low settings aren’t a problem even for iGPUs like AMD RX Vega 7 (Renoir C6, Ryzen 4000). On the other hand, when you switch from Low to Medium, there is always a hefty reduction in terms of frames.

This is a problem for the low-end GPUs and that’s why we will check the performance of two mid-range products – GeForce GTX 1650 [40W, 896 CUDA, GDDR6] and the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W, 1024 CUDA, GDDR5].

We know that these two are powerful-enough for this game but the question is how faster is the 50W version over the 40W GPU? Yes, this game isn’t heavy like AC: Odyssey but it’ll be interesting to see exactly when the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] will be out of juice (TGP).

Verdict

The two GPUs are very close when we are talking about the Low preset – 3% difference is just nothing. When you turn up the settings things are getting heavier for the 40W sibling. In this situation, a 10W bigger TGP means 20% more frames on average (without counting the Low preset). However, the performance of the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] is just fine, even on Ultra 60+ FPS aren’t a problem (if this GPU is fitted in a decent laptop).

Despite that, the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] is the winner in this article. Its performance is better and maybe if you want a new GTX 1650-based machine it’ll be good to check for the TGP version of the particular device.
