Discrete GPU performance from an iGPU! Radeon 800M-series RDNA 3.5 graphics show great results on par with RTX 2050

Where is RDNA 4? Anyway, in the meantime, competitors have to worry about RDNA 3.5 as it is putting out pretty powerful iGPUs that are ripe for thin & light laptops as well as next-gen handhelds. The Radeon 800M-series GPUs so far offer the Radeon 880M and the Radeon 890M, and thanks to Bilibili today we’ve got some results from 3DMark Time Spy to share with you.

As you can see below, the 890M comes quite close to the RTX 2050, a discrete GPU made for thin and light laptops, that consumes more power and generates excess heat than what an iGPU would usually. We see a very drastic jump from RDNA 3 to RDNA 3.5, as the 890M is 25% more powerful in the benchmark when compared to the Radeon 780M.

So far these iGPUs are reserved for the new Ryzen AI 300-series of processors, which right now include the Ryzen AI 9 370 HX and the Ryzen AI 9 365.
