[Comparison] AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS vs AMD Ryzen 7 6800H – Wattage is king
AMD’s currently on the back foot, as the CPU crown seems to once again belong to Intel. And AMD’s not looking to be doing anything, rebranding CPUs from last year as new SKUs to mix up with the actual new Zen 4 processors. Today we have the only 7000-series processor that we managed to find, the Ryzen 7 7735HS, which we’ll be comparing against last year’s Ryzen 7 6800H, to show you that there’s not really much of a difference. The CPUs are essentially the same, with the same core count and clock speeds, while the Ryzen 7 6800H gets 10W extra added to its TDP.

CPU benchmarks
The Ryzen 7 6800H comes with a 3% higher score in 3D Rendering while being a second quicker in Photoshop.
Results are from the Cinebench R23 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)
Conclusion
The higher wattage of the Ryzen 7 6800H manages to be key, keeping the CPU ahead in Photoshop. As for the Cinebench R23 score, a gain of 3% is very small and nearly negligible, as the Ryzen 7 7735HS finds room to stretch its legs and perform better in the long run. We’re really hoping AMD brings its A-game with Zen 4, since it would be great for Intel to have competition in terms of performance.
