日本MSI GP65 Leopard 10Sx vs MSI GP65 Leopard 9Sx – more power for the 15-incher
Here comes the MSI GP65 Leopard 10Sx which is the 15.6″ version of the MSI GP75 Leopard 10Sx. Ultimately, this is an updated version of the MSI GP65 Leopard 9Sx, which is still a decent machine and its successor is no different. It has decent mid-range hardware and the overall performance is enough to handle all new games at High settings (especially when the RTX 2070 is present).
Expectedly, the new one can be configured with Intel Comet Lake-H processors so you can expect a slight bump in terms of CPU power compared to the Coffe Lake-based MSI GP65 Leopard 9Sx. As an MSI gaming device, it features a Steelseries gaming keyboard and speaking of gaming, the new laptop can be configured with more powerful video card options.

Design: the same MSI gaming design
As you can see, these are real twins. No design changes – the same gaming look. Overall, the device still looks good with these thin bezels around the display and the profile is decent for a laptop that can handle an RTX 2070.

Display: 120Hz and 144Hz panels
Last year’s device was a bit shy with its 60Hz base panel but the new one boasts a 120Hz display as a standard feature. If this panel isn’t enough for you there is an optional 144Hz display.

Hardware: Comet Lake-H and full-blown NVIDIA RTX GPUs
A thicker profile means additional space for full-blown video cards (ok, in most cases). You can choose between a big variety of GPUs – RTX 2070, RTX 2060, GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1650, and GTX 1650 Ti. As you can see, there is something for everyone and for almost every kind of budget.
On the other hand, the Intel Core i7-10750H seems like the only CPU choice which isn’t completely bad because it suits well in a mid-range gaming machine with its 6 cores and 12 threads. The cooling solution looks like a capable one with its up to 7 heat pipe (probably the less powerful laptops will have fewer heat pipes).
Connectivity and ports: a standard selection
The I/O is completely fine for a machine in this price range – a USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type-C) port, three USB 3.1 Gen1 (Type-A) ports, an RJ45 port, an SD card reader, an HDMI connector, a Mini-DisplayPort, a mic-in jack, and an audio jack.
Storage and other specs: Steelseries keyboard, two storage ports, and a modest battery capacity
The Steelseries keyboard is available for all MSI GP65 Leopard 10Sx machines (unlike the MSI GP75 Leopard 10Sx). No matter the device, you can enjoy a rich in customizations keyboard unit with per-key RGB backlight. Sadly, this year’s device has one NVMe port less than the 2019 laptop, so, for storage, there is an M.2 slot and a 2.5″ SATA one. The battery capacity is nothing special for a device that can be configured with a 144Hz panel and an RTX 2070 – only a 51Wh unit.
