[Quick comparison] MSI GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING X TRIO vs Ventus 3X vs Ventus 2X – which one is the best choice?

This time we will show you some desktop shiny GeForce RTX 4070 GPUs. Yep, we know that our Web site is all about laptops but this year we will test some GPUs meant for desktop usage. Today we will show you a quick example of the performance of three different brand-new MSI video cards based on the GA104 chip.

We are talking about the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING X TRIO, MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X OC, and MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 2X OC. As you already guess, the first one has the biggest cooler and it’s the most expensive one among the trio. The 2X model is the most affordable variant but given the fact that its TGP is modest, two fans and a normal-sized cooler should be enough for normal usage.

As you can see, the performance difference between the three is nothing to write home about. The GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING X TRIO can impress future buyers with its massive cooler, while the Ventus 3X version isn’t that highly-priced but the performance of this fella is almost the same compared to the bigger sibling.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 2X offers a good bang for the buck and it can achieve almost similar results to the other two video cards but the end price of the two-fan GPU is more pleasant.  If you are on the hunt for a new desktop GPU and the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is too powerful for your needs, the non-Ti version is cheaper while the performance is high enough even for 4K gaming. It’s interesting to see that despite the performance differences being negligible, the price range of these three MSI video cards is quite significant.
