Inside HP ProBook 450 G4 – disassembly, internal photos and upgrade options

HP’s ProBook 450 G4 remains as one of the best budget business solutions on the market with a good build, capable hardware and comfortable input devices. Let’s see what makes this laptop tick and how to disassemble it if needed.

You can find some of the available models here: http://amzn.to/2ifHgtJ

1. Service lid

The service lid provides access to the storage devices, RAM slots and Wi-Fi card. It’s easily removed by unscrewing one bolt.

2. Storage, RAM and Wi-Fi card

Out unit shipped with just one M.2 SATA SSD with 256GB capacity. It’s manufactured by SanDisk with model number SD8SNAT-256G-1006 coming in 2280 size. The 2.5-inch HDD/SSD slot, however, was empty.

You can also see the two RAM slots, one of which is taken by a DDR4-2133 chip manufactured by Samsung.

The Wi-Fi card is positioned right next to one of the RAM slots – Intel 7265NGW.

3. Full disassembly and battery

Unfortunately, the battery cannot be accessed so easily and you need to perform a full disassembly of the machine. This includes the optical drive and keyboard as shown in the photos below.

Once the whole bottom is removed, the battery is easy to spot. It’s rated at 48Wh.

Hi,

I have the same model with just the intel graphics card, and I was wondering if I could add an NVIDIA.
