[Specs and Info] Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 (12th Gen Intel) – The ultimate Huawei notebook

So far with what we’ve seen from Huawei, they make pretty beautiful notebooks that are also feature-packed and offer plenty of power. Today we have their most premium device, the MateBook X Pro 2022, powered by Alder Lake and ready to be a mobile station for you to do whatever you please. It’s got an excellent screen for Design work and Color grading, while the chip on the inside can handle complex video editing, thanks to its high core count and higher wattage of 28W, which is the base TDP, but it can go higher given that capable cooling is introduced.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 (12th Gen Intel).

Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 (12th Gen Intel): Full Specs

Design

The laptop uses a metal chassis but depending on the color, you get a different finish. The Ink Blue and White options have a Micro Arc Oxidation treatment on the surface, which prevents corrosion and improves the hardness. The Space Grey color has a normal anodized finish, which still bears some corrosion resistance. All three versions have a reflective Huawei logo on the back. Weighing just 1.38 kg, it’s pretty portable and can be carried around from home to school or from home to the office. It’s also really thin, with a profile of only 15.5 mm.

For a smaller device, the I/O is adequate, with two USB Type-C ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support, as well as two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The base of the MateBook X Pro 2022 houses a pretty big touchpad that stretches to the bottom edge, essentially lacking a bottom bezel. The pad is pressure-sensitive and comes with multiple gesture-based controls.

Display

The 14.2-inch IPS display has a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3120 x 2080p. It’s got a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes for smooth operation when scrolling and using the laptop in general. The refresh rate is adjustable, so the laptop can save battery when watching movies or shows, where the content is locked at 24 fps regardless. The panel comes with 500 nits of brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and factory calibration which results in a dE value of <1.0, which is as accurate as it gets. The panel is covered by a magnetically-control nano optical layer, which results in 60% fewer reflections.

Specifications and features

The MateBook is powered by the Core i7-1260P, a 12-core CPU that brings plenty of power to this portable chassis. The CPU has the Iris Xe Graphics G7 integrated graphics inside, which are capable enough to handle video rendering, even at higher resolutions. The CPU is cooled by a vapor chamber setup with two fans. The air is coming through the sides and the space between the keys while being exhausted from the back.

There is a 60Wh battery pack, along with a 90W charger, which means that the laptop can charge very quickly. So even if the battery life isn’t what you expected, you can easily plug it in for 15 or 20 minutes and get more hours out of the laptop.
