Dell XPS 13 9305: Full Specs

Design

As with many XPS laptops, this one doesn’t disappoint when it comes to its build quality. You get aluminum for the lid and the body, except for the base, which comes with the choice of two materials, depending on the color option that you go for. The black color gets a sweet carbon fiber base, which reduces weight, while not compromising the structural integrity. If you prefer the white color, however, the base on it made out of glass fiber instead. The design is original and the main cues have stayed the same, such as sharp corners and round edges. When it comes to weight and height, the dimensions on this laptop are some of the best that we have seen. It weighs just 1.29 kg and is around 11.6 mm tall at the thickest.

Display

The two display options on the XPS 13 9305 are both great in their own right. They have the more standard 16:9 aspect ratio, which contrasts the 16:10 ratio that is found on the XPS 13 9310. This means that the laptop won’t be as good when it comes to fitting multiple apps on the screen, but on the other hand, makes it more appealing for the general consumer who enjoys entertainment and watching videos and movies.

The base 13.3-inch panel comes with a Full HD resolution and quite thin bezels, which makes the panel even smaller in your hand. The second panel has a 4K resolution, and with the same size as the FHD one, you can expect pretty sharp images and videos.

Specifications and features

When it comes to performance, the device is more than capable, thanks to its Tiger Lake processors, which range from the Core i3-1115G4 and can go as high as the Core i7-1165G7. The Core i3, even with its simple 4-core, 4-thread setup, can be snappy when it has to, but of course, you shouldn’t expect wonders from it. If you want some real performance, which can handle heavy multitasking, you should pick up a configuration with an i7 processor, which will more than satisfy your needs.

Handling the graphics, are Intel’s iGPU solutions which go by the name of Iris Xe Graphics. Depending on your processor of choice, you get three different iGPUs. Safe to say, the Xe Graphics are some of the best performing iGPUs available right now.

Features-wise, the device is stacked, with a total of three USB Type-C ports (two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one standard Type-C 3.2 Gen.2 with DisplayPort capabilities). Aspiring photographers shouldn’t be worried as there is a MicroSD card slot as well. The backlit keyboard quite good for those long nights and the combo of a dual-array microphone and stereo speakers will ensure great business meetings and conference calls.
