1. Great optional display
The big 17.3″ IPS display (AUO B173HAN05.0 AUO509D) has a refresh rate of 240 Hz, it has comfortable viewing angles, great contrast ratio – 1300:1, and it covers 99% of the sRGB. We recorded Fall Time + Rise Time = 8 ms – a dream come true for most of the mobile gamers. Additionally, the panel is PWM-free, and with our “Gaming and Web design” the average dE value is 0.7 which is a great result (very color-accurate display).
2. A good-looking device with an aluminum build
A big laptop that weighs 2.25 kg and has a profile of 18.95 mm – yes, that is the MSI GS75 Stealth. The device is thin, it looks stylish and gamer-ish at the same time, and it has an all-aluminum build that adds a premium feel. Moreover, the lid is sturdy enough, so you won’t be able to flex it too much, plus, it can be opened effortlessly with a single hand.
3. Decent battery life
In most cases, a 17-incher with a high refresh rate (in our case it’s even a 240 Hz unit) means bad battery life. But not this one – the MSI machine is able to endure over 8 hours of both Web browsing and videos and that’s a decent result for a gaming machine with that kind of display.

The notebook is rich in extras – it has 3 M.2 SSD slots (with RAID support), Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, and a MicroSD card reader.

1. Hot and loud under load
Unfortunately, the cooling has a hard time when you put a high amount of stress on the internals. Under pressure, the CPU reaches 95°C – okay, with a 3.20 GHz clock it’s the highest boosting laptop equipped with a Core i7-9750H that we have ever tested but the CPU is just too hot. The GPU isn’t that well-cooled too – 81°C. Yes, again, it boosts higher than the other laptops with RTX 2070 Max-Q but its temperature is also on the high side.
During gaming, the machine produces a lot of noise and the keyboard gets pretty warm – 52°C. Additionally, the bottom panel heats up even more, which might be very unpleasant after a long gaming session.
