Intel Core i7-4940MX is a high-end CPU announced on 19.01.2014. It is part of the Haswell generation and has a base frequency of 3.1 GHz. If higher performance is needed, its four cores can be automatically overclocked, and the frequency can reach up up to: 3.8 GHz – when all cores are used; 3.9 GHz – when two cores are used; and 4.0 GHz – when only one core is used.
The chip features 256 KB first-level cache, 1 MB second-level cache and 8 MB third-level cache. Core i7-4940MX has been manufactured through a 22 nm process and it includes an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 GPU. Its base frequency is 400 MHz which can be increased up to 1350 MHz thans to the TurboBoost technology. The power consumption of the entire SoC is 57 Watts, and its maximum operational temperature is 100 degrees Celsius.
