Full specs and prices of the first NVIDIA GTX 1070 laptop ASUS ROG G752VS coming mid-August

If you are following the trail of leaks for the last two weeks, they will probably get you here because we finally have solid info on what the first GTX 1070-equipped notebook will look like. The notebook is ASUS’ flagship ROG G752 and we’ve prepared full specs and prices of the machine, although we can’t confirm that these will be the same for the US and Asia. The info we got will most probably apply for Europe and prices will be slashed for the US market, as always.

Anyway, the starting price of this machine is expected to be around for the end customer €2 000 and will include a Full HD (1920×1080) IPS panel with native G-Sync support, which is probably going the be the same as the old model, Intel Core i7-6700HQ, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD spinning at 7200rpm, 88Wh 8-cell battery pack and, of course, NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM, also listed as N17E-G2. The official model number is G752VS as the previous two models were G752VT for the GTX 970M model and G752VY for the GTX 980M variant.

Update: The new G752VS hits the stores, pre-orders are now possible!

The list of configurations continues with a unit priced again at around €2 000 and specs identical to the one above, but excludes the pre-installed Windows 10 OS and adds a 256GB PCIe NVMe (probably) M.2 SSD stick. The price goes up to €2 200 if you retain the SSD and the OS.

And now, things start to get spicy. The notebook will also add a UHD (3840×2160) variant with 400 nits maximum brightness and full Adobe color gamut coverage. We will make sure this is true once the notebook arrives in our office. Anyway, the rest of the specs are mostly the same with the exception of RAM and storage configs. The model costing around €2 600 includes a 512GB PCIe M.2 stick and 16GB of DDR4 RAM but the most expensive variant will cost you the whopping €2 800 for 32GB of RAM and again 512GB PCIe M.2 drive. So all configurations include the Core i7-6700HQ CPU paired with GTX 1070 and the only changes are in the screen, storage, and memory setups.

The chassis and design are identical to those of the previous G752VY and G752VT models so we are quite eager to see if the cooling system will handle this big boy. But if our information about the 85W TDP of the GPU turns out to be true, we can easily assume that the cooling design will be more than enough to handle it. We will find out after mid-August, which is probably the shipping date for Europe and the notebook might come a little bit earlier in the US, judging by past releases.

Asus can’t make functional design on their gaming notebooks, since 2010 with g73 the most important ports are crowded at the right side of the notebook, making the use of a mouse very difficult.

solution 1: … and 2… below – yet, not… since they pile ports on the left side as well, it seems they would have found a way to place them on the back edge by now… 1 – train your left hand to use mouse(that frees your right hand on ALL keyboards saving the back and forth KB to M.(use MAJOR finger a button 1, do not reverse buttons) I did it and now I have access to the keypad on keyboards without having to swap KB/M Note: I also got so good with the left hand that sometimes if… Read more »

Have you seen any specs of what the mobile 1070’s have to offer? (Or perhaps compared to the current generation of 970m)

If you look up the specs, these are full size cards. Nvidia said they will no longer make a mobile version of the cards.

Seems like your source is an etailer? If so, are these available for pre-order?

They are removing mobile versions of the card. Its the full 1070 not 1070m.

Wow that is insane if that is truly the case… considering the specs of the 970m and 980m were roughly equivalent to the 780 desktop gpu. The few hundred bucks extra (compared to the acer predator series) would be well worth the 3 generation gap you would be leaping
