Lenovo MIIX 3 (10.1) surprises us with a bright screen and high contrast ratio

13329As convertibles are becoming more and more popular, we decided to take a deep look at the Lenovo MIIX 3 which is a fine looking 2-in-1 device with a relatively big screen (10.1″). We are currently working on a review and some of the initial tests of the screen are in.

Our tests show that Lenovo MIIX 3 has a high maximum brightness of 299 cd/m2 which would be good enough even for outdoor use. Furthermore, the color temperature at maximum brightness is a bit further than the optimal one of 6500K (D65) and in our case it’s 6948K. Unfortunately, though, a big portion of the WEB-based colors (sRGB) are missing which will surely affect user experience and will result in a less accurate color reproduction, but we will make sure to check that later in our full review. However, the sRGB color gamut coverage is 68% and 48% of the Adobe RGB color and this would be considered as a drawback since the device is mainly oriented towards web browsing. At least the maximum contrast ratio measured was 1130:1 – quite a good result.

Stay tuned for our full review on the Lenovo MIIX 3 (10.1) as we have some more things to tell you about this device. In the meantime, you check this short hands-on.
