ASUS ZenBook 15 UX533 display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

If you’re not familiar with the new ASUS ZenBook 15 UX533 yet, check out our in-depth review, you won’t be disappointed. It got our Editor’s choice award for overall quality but here we’re going to take a look at its screen only and how it passed our display tests.

Although we can’t recommend it for color sensitive work, the BOE NV156FHM-N63 (BOE07D8) panel in ZenBook 15 UX533 did pretty well in our tests. The contrast ratio is 1100:1, it covers 92% of the sRGB color gamut and has 290 nits mean maximum brightness. The DeltaE color deviation is 2.2 (with our Design & Gaming profile).

In terms of Health impact, BOE NV156FHM-N63 is not bad either – it doesn’t use PWM (learn more) for controlling the screen brightness. If you want to further protect your body, we recommend using our Health-Guard in the evenings.

Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.

This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. “Design and Gaming” takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.

It also regulates the first steps out of black so you can have even faster reflexes when playing in dark virtual environments… or just see everything in the darkest scenes in movies.

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates PWM.

Pro Tip: As the Health-Guard profile simulates paper and has as accurate as possible colors, it could be a great tool for prepress designers!
