[Specs and Info] Huawei MateBook B7-410 – Competitive on all fronts

Huawei’s laptops have a lot going for them, offering great designs and beautiful displays. Today we have the MateBook B7-410, which could have come with more modern hardware, instead of the Tiger Lake U-series from 2021, however, due to its small size, the CPUs might turn out to be quite good, especially with the cooling solution that’s available. The display on the B7 is what we’re very excited about, as the resolution is very high and the colors look great.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Huawei MateBook B7-410.

Huawei MateBook B7-410: Full Specs

Design

The laptop is made of aluminum alloy, which keeps it incredibly lightweight. The design is also great to look at, with a Space Grey finish, along with glossy chamfered edges and a glossy Huawei logo in the upper left corner of the lid. While being more compact, it still has front-firing speakers that flank the keyboard, along with a fingerprint reader above it. The MateBook is pretty light, with a weight of 1.33 kg and a profile of 14.6 mm.

The port selection is still decent, considering the small dimensions, with one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The display of the MateBook B7 comes with a 13.9-inch 3K IPS panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio. We’ve got a very high pixel density of 260 PPI, a peak brightness of 450 nits, 100% sRGB coverage, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. The panel does have a touch layer, so you can use it as a way of input, however, since this isn’t a convertible, you won’t be able to have full tablet functionality.

Specifications and features

The laptop comes with two Tiger Lake U-series processors, the Core i5-1135G7 and the Core i7-1165G7, both with 4 cores and 8 threads. They have a TDP of up to 28W, which means that you can squeeze out plenty of performance. On the other hand, with only 4 cores, amidst the newer 12th and 13th Gen processors, which have more, you might feel that the laptop is outdated. The jump in performance from 11th to 12th gen was significant, so unless you find the laptop on a good deal, you might want to skip ahead to the newer offerings, which should also increase the efficiency, thanks to the hybrid architecture of the new architecture. The laptop is cooled by a vapor chamber setup with two fans. The setup is thinner than a conventional heat pipe design, while quieter at the same time.
