[Specs, Info, and Prices] Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-54) – We need more of these

TravelMate laptops aren’t getting the respect they deserve, as they’re silently making some very good business offerings that both show care for the environment, as well as have the latest and relevant hardware that can help propel you forward, rather than slow you down. The Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-54) is a 14-inch machine with a lot of features, plenty of ports, and fairly good looks, so it shouldn’t be overlooked when compared to most Latitudes, ThinkPads, and whatnot.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-54).

The Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-54) is available at a price of $998.00.

Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-54): Full Specs

Design

The P2 TravelMate laptops often come with a fully plastic chassis, and the 14-inch model isn’t an exception. The overall shape of the body is boxy, with sharp edges and rounded corners. The lid is texturized, with a small Acer logo on the top right corner. The hinges look like metal but are probably plastic, while the back has the only heat vent that’s present. On the base, there’s a keyboard, with a long speaker grill on the top, as well as a touchpad and a fingerprint reader. In terms of dimensions, the laptop measures 1.52 kg in weight and 19.9 mm in profile, making for a relatively portable laptop.

On the sides, the port selection includes three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, a single Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, paired with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support. There’s also a MicroSD card reader, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There’s also an optional SmartCard reader, which here is mounted on the front, which is rather convenient.

Display

There’s only one display available, a Full HD IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. It’s not anything special, however, it will get the job done when it’s time for meetings, emails, presentations, and other office work.

Specifications and features

The TravelMate is powered by three Alder Lake U-series CPUs, the Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1235U, and Core i7-1255U, all three of which offer reliable power and plenty of efficiency. The latter is dependent on how much strain you put on it, but we’re confident that you can extract plenty of time from the 56Wh unit that’s inside. Overall, we’re surprised as to why there are not more of these out in the world, as most ThinkPads and Latitudes hardly offer a better display, while performance tends to be pretty much the same with most office machines.
