[Specs, Info, and Prices] Dell XPS 13 9315 – Putting portability first

Dell’s XPS laptops surely don’t like having wide I/O, as the newest XPS 13 9315 makes a lot of sacrifices, in order to be as light and as portable as possible. Still, you’re getting the latest 12th Gen Alder Lake processors, as well as a great design. All of that comes in at a good price when you consider the Zenbooks and Yoga laptops that the competition offers.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Dell XPS 13 9315.

The Dell XPS 13 9315 is available now with a starting price of $849.99.

Dell XPS 13 9315: Full Specs

Design

The XPS 13 comes with a clean design that’s all metal, aluminum, to be specific. The laptop looks very good, with sharp edges, rounded corners, and a sleek Dell logo on the back. There are also two colors to choose from, simply named Sky or Umber. In terms of portability, the device weighs only 1.17 kg and has a profile of 13.99 mm.

Display

The display selection includes two Full HD+ displays with a peak brightness of 500 nits, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and 100% sRGB coverage. The difference between them is that one has touch capability. Next is a 4K UHD+ display with the same brightness, but a lower 1650:1 contrast ratio and 90% DCI-P3 coverage.

Specifications and features

The laptop has you choosing between two Alder Lake U-series CPUs, with a TDP of only 9W. The chips in question are the Core i5-1230U and the Core i7-1250U, both with 10 cores and 12 threads. At only 9W, we don’t expect any excess heat, as the chips have shown to run well in other laptops. While we don’t know how Dell will cool the laptop, you don’t really need much. The I/O of the laptop consists of only two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
