[Specs, Info, and Prices] HP Dragonfly Folio (13.5″) – What is this thing on the back?

HP’s Dragonfly laptops are slowly becoming their own brand within HP’s portfolio, filling up the ultra high-end with machines that are both nice to look at and experiment with form factors and other technologies.

Today we have the HP Dragonfly Folio, a very pricey machine, which hopefully brings enough features and intangibles to justify it. It’s powered by hardware that targets efficiency first, but to be fair, there isn’t really an alternative when it comes to the 13-inch market.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the HP Dragonfly Folio (13.5″).

The HP Dragonfly Folio (13.5″) is available now with a starting price of $2,379.00.

HP Dragonfly Folio (13.5″): Full Specs

Design

The laptop has an interesting design, with a chassis that’s entirely covered in black color. The materials used are kept secret, however, we wouldn’t expect anything else than metal at this price point. The back of the laptop also has a cover of some sort, which we hope is made from leather, while also having a stamped HP logo. The cover has a curve at the bottom and a slit in the middle, which allows the lid to close the other way, similar to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio. In terms of portability, the Dragonfly Folio weighs only 1.40 kg and has a profile of 17.78 mm.

Display

There are two display options to pick from, with either a Full HD+ IPS display with either 400 or 1000 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB coverage. The 1000-nit variant has HP Sure View Reflect, which narrows the viewing angles so other people can’t see what you’re doing on it. Next, we have a 3000 x 2000 IPS display with 1000 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

Specifications and features

There are four CPUs to pick from, starting from the popular Core i5-1235U and ending with the Core i7-1265U. All four chips have 10 cores (2 P-cores and 8 E-cores) and 12 threads. Most of these are efficiency cores, so you should check your expectations about the performance. With that said, it’s still quite good, considering the form factor that we’re discussing here. The I/O of the laptop is scarce, with only two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
