ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) review – a gaming laptop disguised in a suit
Temperatures and comfort, Battery Life
Max CPU load
In this test we use 100% on the CPU cores, monitoring their frequencies and chip temperature. The first column shows a computer’s reaction to a short load (2-10 seconds), the second column simulates a serious task (between 15 and 30 seconds), and the third column is a good indicator of how good the laptop is for long loads such as video rendering.
Average P-core frequency; Average E-core frequency; CPU temp.; Package Power
Intel Core i9-13900H (45W TDP) | 0:02 – 0:10 sec | 0:15 – 0:30 sec | 10:00 – 15:00 min |
---|---|---|---|
ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) | 3.70 GHz @ 2.90 GHz @ 84°C @ 101W | 3.47 GHz @ 2.76 GHz @ 89°C @ 88W | 2.99 GHz @ 2.26 GHz @ 77°C @ 60W |
ASUS ROG Flow X16 (GV601, 2023) | 3.83 GHz @ 2.94 GHz @ 68°C @ 107W | 3.73 GHz @ 2.92 GHz @ 78°C @ 101W | 3.60 GHz @ 2.88 GHz @ 81°C @ 91W |
ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023) | 3.98 GHz @ 3.08 GHz @ 84°C @ 116W | 3.69 GHz @ 2.90 GHz @ 87°C @ 97W | 3.60 GHz @ 2.87 GHz @ 88°C @ 92W |
This device performs surprisingly well given its size. However, it can’t match the likes of the ROG Flow X16, or the ROG Zephyrus M16, when it comes to continuous loads. However, with 60W at 77°C we can’t be any happier.
Real-life gaming
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 | GPU frequency/ Core temp (after 2 min) | GPU frequency/ Core temp (after 30 min) |
---|---|---|
ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) | 2337 MHz @ 80°C @ 90W | 2327 MHz @ 82°C @ 90W |
ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614, 2023) | 2490 MHz @ 68°C @ 99W | 2490 MHz @ 69°C @ 99W |
Acer Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) | 2550 MHz @ 68°C @ 98W | 2550 MHz @ 68°C @ 98W |
Lenovo Legion Pro 5 (16″, 2023) | 2625 MHz @ 70°C @ 100W | 2625 MHz @ 74°C @ 99W |
The situation around the GPU is arguably more impressive. It clocks at 2327-2337 MHz with little hesitation throughout the entire test. On the flip side, the core can get a little toasty – not to mention the hotspot, which reached about 94°C.
Gaming comfort
The comfort won’t be hindered by the high internal temperatures though. The laptop is loud, but not super loud during gaming. In addition, the highest temperature reading we got from the keyboard was about 44°C.
Battery
Now, we conduct the battery tests with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. This machine’s 76Wh battery pack lasts for 6 hours and 57 minutes of Web browsing, or 5 hours and 48 minutes of video playback.
Si on insert une carte SD dans l’appareil, elle sort de beaucoup ?
Peut-on imaginer la laisser en permanence ?
Bonjour,
