[Specs and Info] ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602, 12th Gen Intel) – When in doubt, use the P-series

The ExpertBook lineup from ASUS is full of different devices. The brand has expanded to offer workstations, with the ExpertBook B6 Flip being its first foray into the market. Today we have another one, this time a bit smaller, but still with a lot of potential for performance. The ExpertBook B5 OLED offers an OLED screen with incredible visuals, as well as the Alder Lake P-series and discrete graphics from Intel, which didn’t launch properly, however, we think there’s still hope, as the software and drivers are optimized better.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602, 12th Gen Intel).

ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602, 12th Gen Intel): Full Specs

Design

ASUS is trying to familiarize consumers with the ExpertBook brand, so all of its laptops look pretty similar, with a navy blue finish over the entire chassis, which is made from a magnesium-aluminum alloy. The use of such materials means very low weight, with only 1.40 kg of weight and a profile of 19.9 mm. With that, you’ll be able to carry the laptop anywhere with you, while the screen being as big as it means that you get a lot of room to work with.

In terms of ports, the laptop comes with one USB 2.0 port, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0b port, a MicroSD card slot, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The sides also house the power button, which comes with an embedded fingerprint reader.

Display

The laptop comes with just one display option, a 16-inch OLED panel with a 4K UHD+ resolution. It maxes out at 400 nits and fully covers the DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring vibrant and punchy colors. The OLED matrix means superb visuals and deep blacks, including a Pantone validation for color accuracy. As you can see the top bezel includes an array of sensors, including either an HD or an FHD webcam with an IR scanner for facial recognition and a quad-array microphone.

Specifications and features

There are three CPU options to choose from, including the Core i5-1240P, the Core i7-1260P, and the Core i7-1270P, all of which have a lot of performance inside, especially when paired with potent cooling. For graphics, you can decide to stick with the integrated Iris Xe Graphics G7 or pay extra to include the Arc A350M, which has 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. For RAM and storage, there is up to 8GB of soldered memory, along with one SODIMM slot for extra DDR5 memory, while the storage is upgradeable thanks to two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for Gen 4 SSDs.
