ExpertBooks are getting in on the fun, as we have the ASUS ExpertBook B6 Flip. It’s as if we didn’t have enough of them with the Vivobook Pro and Zenbook Pro laptops. However, the more the merrier we say, as we welcome the new ExpertBook B6 Flip, which also brings a convertible form factor, to make it stand out against the competition. Powered by Alder Lake HX processors and discrete NVIDIA graphics, we’re excited to see how the laptop differs from the rest of the field and what cooling it uses. ExpertBooks have always been very good for business, but it’s time for the brand to evolve and amass a bigger following.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the ASUS ExpertBook B6 Flip (B6602F, 12th Gen Intel).

ASUS ExpertBook B6 Flip (B6602F, 12th Gen Intel): Full Specs

Design

The B6 Flip looks like any other ExpertBook, with a Navy Blue finish on the base, lid, and bottom panel. The lid has a glossy ASUS logo, as well as a rectangular ExpertBook badge in the upper right corners. The top bezel is outfitted with a bunch of sensors, including an HD camera for calls and meetings, an IR sensor for facial recognition, as well as a privacy shutter. On the base, there’s a full-sized keyboard with highlighted 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys. The bezels are on the thicker side, however, the laptop still has a lot of charm. While most ExpertBooks are made from magnesium, it’s hard to believe that this one is, especially when we factor in that it weighs around 2.70 kg and has a profile of 27 mm.

The port selection includes two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0b port, a mini DisplayPort, a LAN port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a SmartCard reader.

Display

The laptop has a 16-inch IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a QHD+ resolution. It has a peak brightness of 500 nits and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Since it’s a touchscreen, it has stylus support, while the glass screen keeps the panel protected.

Specifications and features

The ExpertBook B6 Flip offers two Alder Lake HX-series processors, with a higher 55W base TDP. You can pick between the Core i7-12850HX and the Core i9-12950HX, both with 16 cores and 24 threads. The Core i9 has more cache, with 30 MB, while the Core i7 has 25 MB. Other than that, the chips are very similar, down to using the same iGPU, the UHD Graphics Xe 750. Moving to the graphics, there’s an RTX A2000 with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Paired with the Studio drivers from NVIDIA, you get good performance when you’re video rendering. However, you can also load up the GeForce Game Ready driver, and play games on the GPU as well. The upgradeability of the laptop is amazing, as while we don’t know how we know that ASUS has placed 4 SODIMM slots for DDR5 memory, as well as 2 M.2 slots for Gen 4 SSDs.
