    Review

    Acer Aspire 3 in-depth review

Here is another Acer Aspire 3 iteration. We've yet seen the A315-55G, the A315-42 (which was equipped with an AMD chipset, and now we have the A315-34, which is the most affordable of the bunch. It still features the plasticky, yet surprisingly good looking design.IN terms of display, however, you shouldn't expect anything more than a TN panel with a Full HD resolution. Additionally, you get entry-level processors to choose from. They top out with the Pentium Silver N5000. Yes... this is how low-budget this notebook is. After all, it is made mostly for students and just for an everyday device, that you can do some Word and Excell work on.You can check the prices and configurations in our Specs System: https://laptopmedia.com/series/acer-aspire-3-a315-34/Specs SheetWh[...]

    Pros

    • Very affordable
    • Decent battery life
    • Wide upgradability options
    • Doesn't use aggressive PWM for brightness adjustment (Innolux N156HGA-EA3 (CMN15F5))

    Cons

    • Weird cooling
    • No Type-C port, nor an SD card reader
    • TN panel has naturally poor viewing angles (Innolux N156HGA-EA3 (CMN15F5))
    • Poor contrast ratio and only 53% of sRGB color coverage (Innolux N156HGA-EA3 (CMN15F5))

    Disassembly, maintenance and upgrade options

This is the third model of the Aspire 3 2019 line-up. So far, it is the most affordable one and comes with the lowest-tier processors from Intel.Check out all Acer Aspire 3 (A315-34) prices and configurations in our Specs System or read more in our In-Depth review.1. Remove the bottom plate After you unscrew all 11 Phillips-head screws and pop the panel open with a plastic pry tool. Beware, of the low-quality building material used all over the place.2. Battery While the battery pack is a 37Wh unit, we expect it to perform decently well with its 6W processor inside. Shoul[...]
